Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is basically a continuous Extractor Fan system. This means that the MEV is operating/running all the time continuously, MEVs are more efficient in terms of carbon foot print and running costs due to the requirement for reduced extract rates because of their continuous operation. Continuous MEVs fall under two types of system design; Centralised Continuous Mechanical Extract Ventilation and De-centralised Continuous Mechanical Extract Ventilation.

De-centralised Continuous Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is also a very efficient low energy system design that is localised (de-centralised) to one wet room only and normally wall or loft mounted in and around the served wet room area.
